Oftentimes when people think of tarot readers, they imagine gypsy-inspired clothing, crystal balls, the summoning of spirits, dim lighting, and dour predictions of irreversible doom-and-gloom. (We can primarily thank the movies for that.)
That’s not me. That’s not what I do.
My name is Bethany Abrahamson. I'm a tarot professional, numerologist, and an intuitive. My line of work may be considered "eccentric," but overall, I'm a fairly ordinary person. I just happen to work as an advisor, delivering practical advice via mystical means. It’s just me, my cards, my calculator, and real conversation about real-world problems. My delivery is open, relational, genuine, and grounded. I've found tarot and numerology to be exceptionally helpful for life-planning, and I love to get right down to business.
I've been reading tarot for 27 years and doing numerology for 31 years. Throughout those decades I’ve read for a huge variety of people on every topic imaginable, from the trivial to critical, and everything in-between.
I’ve given readings at many fundraising and entertainment events throughout the years, such as Bastille Days in Milwaukee, Ultraviolet 2019 (fundraiser for Harbor House Domestic Abuse Programs), the Opening Celebration for the Life Lit Up exhibition at the John Michael Kohler Arts Center, and for corporate events held at locations such as the Hilton Milwaukee City Center and the Milwaukee County Zoo, to name a few.
Although I have used a variety of tarot decks throughout the years, for the past 20 years my signature deck has been the round deck Motherpeace Tarot. I have been interviewed by the venerated and esteemed Theresa Reed (aka The Tarot Lady) and the beloved Deborah Lighthart of the Heart-Light Healing Community, as well as the respected Appleton community leader Eldridge Alexander on her VOICES YouTube series. For most of my life I’ve also had a second career as a professional musician. I’ve been an opera chorister, theater performer, wedding and funeral vocalist, music director and arranger, sheet music engraver, voice teacher, choral conductor, and most recently, a choral composer. I earned my Lawrence University - Bachelor of Music degree with an emphasis on vocal performance back in 1997, and I’ve used it consistently ever since. Outside of readings and music, some of my other interests include international travel and cuisine, world history, astrology, animal rescue, watching cat videos, and sharing pet-snuggling duty with my husband.
In October 2022, I moved from The United States to the Azores Islands of Portugal. Surrounded by whales, dolphins, ocean, volcanoes, hot springs, and endless green, I am most fortunate to now conduct my readings from one of the most beautiful places on Earth!
Why do I do readings? Because I love helping people and getting them back to a place of strength and empowerment. An effective reading is like getting a tune-up for the soul and the mind, and that's what I aim to provide.
